Also added today are two new pieces for beginner string groups. “ Just for starters “ and “ Let’s Begin “ are arranged for 2 violin parts, viola and 2 cello parts. Violin 2, viola and cello 2 parts only use open strings while violin 1 and cello 1 use all the fingers in 1st position.
The piece is currently scored for eight parts, ranging in difficulty from pre- grade one to about grade 3, but of course this can be further fine- tuned to suite your string group.
All five pieces can now be heard on the String Catalogue audio player.
Have a listen to them on the String Catalogue audio player.
The remaining pieces from the suite will be added to the string catalogue over the coming weeks.
A new catalogue page has been added to the website today for pieces with a more advanced degree of difficulty. The first piece to appear on this page is the Overture from Sour Grapes, a musical comedy written by Stephen Telfer and Nick Drewe. The Overture, lasting about four and a half minutes, contains a number of the song melodies from the show and can be heard by clicking on the title in the audio player.
There are 8 parts including ones for easy violin and cello in 1st position.
New on the main catalogue today is “ Guadagnando slancio! “, a slightly more demanding piece, currently shown and played in an arrangement for a reasonable size traditional orchestra but with optional piano part.
