Nick Drewe B.Mus. A.R.C.M.

Since graduating from the Royal College of Music, Nick has spent 35 years working in many areas of music from performing and recording to writing, composing and teaching. This has given him a very broad spectrum of experience on which he is now drawing to compose original pieces of music, suitable for bespoke arrangement, to meet the needs of a wide range of orchestras and ensembles of varying instruments and standards.

As a violinist, Nick has played with many orchestras both amateur and professional and as a pianist he has accompanied and played with many choirs, ensembles and individuals.

He has written musicals and music for the theatre, co-written a series of GCSE books, published by Novello and over the years has always composed pieces as required to meet the needs of choirs, performers and schools where he has worked.

In fact Nick has done most of his composing for particular groups and ensembles, many in schools, so is very used to the interesting challenges this can pose! Specific requirements apart, Nick draws much of his inspiration from the Natural World which has been a life long interest for him.

Nick currently teaches piano and electronic keyboard at the
Schools at Somerhill in Tonbridge where he has worked, part time, for the past 20 years
